A glass fiber-reinforced poly(tetramethylene terephthalate) [24968-12-5] granulate (19 parts) was mixed with 1 part of the propellant conc. for 1.5 min in a drum mixer, giving a homogeneous compn. which was injection molded into 10 mm structural foam sheets with finely cellular uniform pore structure, smooth surface, d. 1.0, tensile strength 54 N/mm2, elongation at break 2%, bending strength 90 N/mm2, and impact strength 20 and 17 kJ/m2 at +23 and -40.degree., resp.

Thus, 400 parts 5-phenyltetrazole [18039-42-4] (Id 240-250°) 1600 parts acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer were mixed to form master batch pellets, 0.1 part of which were mixed with glass fibers 20, glass beads 25, wollastonite 25, polyethylene glycol diglycidyl ether 1, a polyether-polyester block copolymer 3, Ca montanate 0.2, and poly(ethylene terephthalate) [25038-59-9] 25.8% were mixed and injection molded at 270° to give test plates, which showed shrinkage 2.8/1000 parallel and 6.2/1000 perpendicular to the direction of flow in the mold after 24 h at room temp., and 2.5/1000 and 6.7/1000, resp., after heat treatment at 150° for 3 h.
