DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 17 (Food and Feed Chemistry) Insects in warehouses contg. bags of corn, rice, sorghum, and husks were subjected to fumigation for 2-5 days with insecticides (Actellic [29232-93-7], Baythion [14816-18-3], Dursban [2921-88-2], Elsan [2597-03-7], Phosdrin [7786-34-7], Phostoxin [20859-73-8], and Nexion [2104-96-3]). Most insects (20 species) were killed by the fumigation. Phostoxin fumigation followed by Baythion fumigation showed a strong insecticidal effect; insect infestation was inhibited for >6 mon. Fumigation with Actellic, Baythion, Dursban, or Elsan inhibited infestation for >5 mon; Phosdrin or Nexion was inhibitory for >4 mon. .
