Two vehicles EtOH [64-17-5]-propylene glycol [57-55-6] and polyethylene glycol [25322-68-3]) contg. 1% I either as I nitrate [24168-96-5] or as a free base were used. Use of the EtOH-propylene glycol vehicle led to higher concns. of both compds. in the stratum corneum. A 10-fold increase in the concn. of antimycotic was obsd. in the viable epidermis and dermis after the application of I free base in EtOH-propylene glycol. .
