DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 54 (Extractive Metallurgy) Use of Na2SO3 in Cu flotation to depress Fe, Pb, and Zn sulfides was examd. Addn. of Na2SO3 to the cleaners was particularly beneficial and done during treatment of a complex high-sulfide ore blend. Na2SO3 addns. and conditioning times were optimized when the autogenous grinding section was operating steadily and producing flotation feed of the required sizing. The required starvation addn. of Bu xanthate and operating pH were detd. To depress galena, sphalerite, pyrite, and pyrrhotite, Na2SO3 was added to the head of each rougher bank at 700-1200 g/ton ore and to the cleaners at 100-200 g/ton ore, while Na iso-Bu xanthate [25306-75-6] as a collector was added to the secondary mill cyclone overflow at 0-75 g/ton ore at pH 9.2-9.8. The flotation feed contg. Cu 1.8, Pb 0. 1310-50-5 and 7757-83-7 which are cas registry numbers of chemicals are mentioned.7, and Zn 1.8% was subjected to selective flotation of Cu sulfides. The Cu conc. contained Cu 27, Pb 1.1, and Zn 3.5%, with recoveries of 94, 9.8, and 12.2%, resp. .

CODEN: CSAMDJ. ISSN: 0728-7178. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 54 (Extractive Metallurgy) Complex sulfide ores contg. chalcopyrite, sphalerite, galena, pyrite, pyrrhotite, and silicates were crushed, ground, and subjected to flotation. Cu sulfide was floated at pH 9.2-9.8 by adding Na iso-Bu xanthate (I) [25306-75-6] 0-75 g/ton ore to the cyclone overflow. Na2SO3 was added as a depressant for galena, sphalerite, pyrite, and pyrrhotite to the rougher bank at 700-1200 and to the cleaner at 100-200 g/ton ore. For galena flotation, I 20-40 g/ton ore at pH 10.2-10.5 was used along with NaCN 50-75 g/ton ore to depress sphalerite, pyrite, and pyrrhotite. For Zn flotation, pH of the rougher was adjusted to 11-11.5 by adding lime to depress pyrite and pyrrhotite. CuSO4 50-500 and I 0-50 g/ton ore were used as activator and collector, resp. The Cu conc. contained Cu 25.3-27.3, Pb 1.12-2.2, and Zn 4.8-7.1%. The Pb conc. contained Pb 44.7-50.1 and Zn 9.76-12.71%. The Zn conc. contained Zn 49-50.1% with a Zn recovery of 65.7-78%. 143-33-9 and 7758-98-7 are just another two chemicals used in this study. Cu and Pb recoveries were 89-92.1 and 56.8-65.7%, resp. .
