This prepn. involves the Wittig reaction of a phosphonium ylide with perfluoroalkyl acid derivs. The influence of the structure of the starting alkylidenetriphenylphosphoranes, the perfluoroalkyl reagents, and the reaction conditions has been investigated. Trifluoroacetamides lead to a Z/E mixt. of enamines. 354-76-7 is also in the experiment.Several reagents such as 354-76-7 is used here. Perfluoroalkyl esters, e.g., CF3CO2Et, lead to only the (Z)-enol ethers, e.g., CF3C(OEt):CHCH2CH2Ph, when reactions are performed with NaNH2 as a base and to 1-perfluoroalkyl ketones, e.g., CF3CO(CH2)3Ph, when reactions are performed with BuLi. ..
