- Evaluation of the migration of Astrazon-type dyes from wool to polyacrylonitrile during dyeing of blends of wool and polyacrylonitrile fibers
- Evaluation of the migration of Astrazon-type dyes from wool to polyacrylonitrile during dyeing of blends of wool and polyacrylonitrile fibers. Malinowska-Grabos, Zdzislawa (Inst. Wiok., Politech. Lodzk., Bielsko-Biala, Pol.). Przegl. Wlok., 38(5), 200-2 (Polish) 1984. CODEN: PRZWAZ. ISSN: 0033-2410. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 40 (Textiles) In dyeing of acrylic fiber-wool blends with Astrazon cationic dyes, the dyes were first bonded to wool and then migrated to acrylic fibers. The course of exhaustion depended on dye type; Astrazon Green F3BL (I) [69771-44-4] and Astrazon Blue B [3943-82-6] were exhausted to 80-90% within 15 min, whereas the concn. of Astrazon Yellow 3GL (II) [4208-80-4], Astrazon Golden Yellow GL (III) [54060-92-3], Astrazon Orange G (IV) [3056-93-7] and Astrazon Orange RRL [61724-64-9] decreased in the 1st, then increased, and finally decreased with prolonged dyeing. This is explained by partial dye pptn. during initial dyeing, dye adsorption on fibers, and migration from wool to acrylic fibers. I is strongly bonded to wool, showing almost no migration to acrylic fibers, while the other dyes, esp. II, III, and IV, migrated easily from wool to acrylic fibers. II, III, IV, and Astrazon Blue FGG [93792-53-1] are best for dyeing acrylic-wool blends.
- Transfer printing sheets
- Transfer printing sheets. (Dainippon Printing Co., Ltd., Japan). Jpn. Tokkyo Koho JP 59022679 B4 28 May 1984 Showa, 11 pp. (Japanese). (Japan). CODEN: JAXXAD. CLASS: IC: B41M003-12. APPLICATION: JP 76-136874 16 Nov 1976. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 40 (Textiles) Transfer sheets having excellent storability were prepd. contg. a transfer layer comprising a basic dye, a disperse dye, and a basic dye transfer booster acting only at transfer temp. Thus, a yellow ink was prepd. from Et cellulose 70, Aizen Cathilon Yellow 3GLH [4208-80-4] 70, C.I. Basic Yellow 3 [2151-60-2] 70, and xylene 790 parts. Et cellulose 70, NaHCO3 140, and xylene 790 parts were ball-milled to obtain a white compn. The yellow ink was mixed 1:1 with the white compn. and gravure-printed in a desired pattern on a carrier paper to obtain a transfer having better storability than a transfer prepd. without the disperse dye. The transfer was used for printing an acrylic fabric by pressing with an iron at 180° for 30 s to obtain a bright yellow print with good fastness to light, laundering, and abrasion.
