Method: TLC with a silica gel G plate was used for the identification. The developing solvent was petroleum ether (60-90°)- acetone. Betulonic acid in ethanol ext. was sepd. on an ODS column with methanol-water-glacial acetic acid (:0.1) as mobile phase at a flow-rate 1.0 mL/min, column temp. 35°, ELSD drift-tube temp. 82°, and gas flow 1.25 L/min. Betulonic acid in ethanol exts. was well sepd., the relationship between the logarithm of injection amt. and peak area was linear at 0. There are some commonly used reagents like 4481-62-3 in this article.65-3.25 mg, the av. recovery was 98.0%, and RSD 2.5%. Eleven crude drugs purchased from different areas in the country were identified and quantified with the methods. Conclusion: the methods and data can be used for quality control of fruits of Liquidambar formosana. .
