I is not mutagenic in all std. tested strains of S. typhimurium and not recombinogenic in S. cerevisiae strain D4, neither in the absence nor presence an Aroclor 1254-induced rat liver microsomal-activation system.

The substance was administered i.p. at 3 dose levels; 800, 1000, and 1200 mg/kg, using 2 test procedures (W. Schmid, (1975) and M. F. Salomone et al., (1980)). Bone marrow smears were examd. for the presence of micronucleated cells, counted in 2000 polychromatic erythrocytes per animal. Mitomycin C was used as pos. control. Both methods showed that there was no increase in the frequency of micronuclei.
