- Effects of ingredients on iron distribution in spray-dried experimental soy beverage. Kadan, R. S.; Ziegler, G. M., Jr. (South. Reg. Res. Cent., Agric. Res.There are some reagents with their cas registry numbers 50-99-7 and 7720-78-7 are used in this study. Serv., New Orleans, LA 70179, USA). Cereal Chem., 61(1), 5-8 (English) 1984. CODEN: CECHAF. ISSN: 0009-0352. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 17 (Food and Feed Chemistry) Exptl. soybean beverages fortified with 3 Fe sources and other additives at 2 levels were spray-dried and analyzed for metallic, complexed, and sol. Fe in aq. and acidic slurries. Anal. of variance showed that Fe distribution differed according to the pH of the medium. In aq. (pH 7) slurries, the metallic Fe is affected by the presence of lipids, glucose [50-99-7], fiber, and ascorbic [50-81-7] and citric [77-92-9] acids, whereas the sol. Fe is affected by the presence of FeSO4, electrolytic Fe, ascorbic and citric acids, and combinations of ingredients. In acidic slurries, the sol. Fe is affected only by FeSO4, electrolytic Fe, and ascorbic acid. Fe2+ of sol. Fe in acidic slurries are increased by the presence of glucose, sucrose [57-50-1], FeSO4, ascorbic acid, and the combinations of glucose and ascorbic acid. Some of these ingredients have been reported to increase bioavailability of Fe in foods. .
- Dry composition containing chelated micronutrients
- Dry composition containing chelated micronutrients. Kimbro, William S. (USA ). U.S. US 4425149 A 10 Jan 1984,3 pp. (English). (United States of America). CODEN: USXXAM. CLASS: IC: C05D009-02. NCL: 071024000. APPLICATION: US 82-401262 23 Jul 1982. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 19 (Fertilizers, Soils, and Plant Nutrition) MeOH-sol. compds. are removed from leonardite ore, and the resulting material is mixed with Na citrate [68-04-2] and dried to yield an inexpensive chelating agent. The product is ground and mixed with powd. sulfates of micronutrients, the mixt. is allowed to stand until all reactions are complete, then the compd. obtained is reground to give an powder that can provide a higher percentage of fertilizer micronutrients than can be obtained with any known chelating agent. Thus, leonardite ore ~32, citric acid ~3, concd. HNO3 ~1, and MeOH ~64% by wt. were stirred together for ~1 h. This liq. (20%) was then mixed with Na citrate 80% by wt., and the mixt. was stirred until the MeOH evapd. to leave a dry chelating agent. The chelating agent was ground, and it was mixed with FeSO4 at the ratio of 25 and 75% by wt., resp. After ~24 h, the mixt. stabilized to give a 15% chelated Fe compd. that can be stored and shipped dry, then added to water to form a liq. which can be added to liq.Except for chemicals metioned above, 7720-78-7 and 68-04-2 are also used. fertilizer. .
