- Investigation of stabilizing effectiveness of alkyl(aryl)tin maleates and thioglycolates in the thermal degradation of poly(vinyl chloride). Some chemicals with cas registry numbers like 14275-57-1 are also used. Troitskii, B. B.; Troitskaya, L. S.; Denisova, V. N.; Novikova, M. A.; Luzinova, Z. B. (Inst. Chem., Gorkiy, USSR). Eur. Polym. J., 13(12), 1033-41 (English) 1977. CODEN: EUPJAG. ISSN: 0014-3057. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 35 (Synthetic High Polymers) The effect of organotin maleates and thioglycolates, e.g. bis(tributyltin) maleate [14275-57-1] and Bu2Sn(SCH2CO2Et)2 [25074-09-3], on the rate of dehydrochlorination and crosslinking of PVC [9002-86-2] was studied by thermal degrdn. in vacuo at 190°. The stabilizing efficiency of the organotin compds. was related to the absorption of HCl, interaction with conjugated double bonds of degraded PVC, and reaction between the stabilizer and chloroallylic fragments. 14275-57-1 are also occured in this study. The order of reactivity of the compds. with 2-chlorobutane [78-86-4] was the inverse of that of their stabilizing power for PVC. The thermal degrdn. of the stabilizers was also studied. ..

- Polymer-cosolvent systems. 7. PMMA-carbon tetrachloride-chloroalkane: preferential solvation and second virial coefficient. Katime, I.; Ochoa, J. R. (Dep. Quim. Fis., Univ. Pais Vasco, Bilbao, Spain). Eur. Polym. J., 20(1), 99-103 (English) 1984. CODEN: EUPJAG. ISSN: 0014-3057. 56-23-5 and 109-69-3 are also in the experiment. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 36 (Physical Properties of Synthetic High Polymers) Both preferential sorption and 2nd virial coeffs. for PMMA [9011-14-7]-CCl4 [56-23-5]-chloroalkane (BuCl [109-69-3], EtCHMeCl [78-86-4], and Me3CCl [507-20-0]) were studied by laser light scattering and differential refractometry of equil. dialysis at 298 K. The chloroalkane was always preferentially adsorbed on PMMA. The equation of B. E. Read (1960) was used to predict the exptl. values of the preferential sorption coeff. .
