DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 35 (Synthetic High Polymers) The effect of organotin maleates and thioglycolates, e.g. bis(tributyltin) maleate [14275-57-1] and Bu2Sn(SCH2CO2Et)2 [25074-09-3], on the rate of dehydrochlorination and crosslinking of PVC [9002-86-2] was studied by thermal degrdn. in vacuo at 190°. The stabilizing efficiency of the organotin compds. was related to the absorption of HCl, interaction with conjugated double bonds of degraded PVC, and reaction between the stabilizer and chloroallylic fragments. 14275-57-1 are also occured in this study. The order of reactivity of the compds. with 2-chlorobutane [78-86-4] was the inverse of that of their stabilizing power for PVC. The thermal degrdn. of the stabilizers was also studied. ..
