I and saccharides, recovery efficiency is improved by pptg. the mixt. with an alk. earth metal salt and recovering I from the filtrate and optionally treating the ppt. with an acid or CO2 for recovery of dextrin [9004-53-9] and(or) pullulan [9057-02-7]. Thus, 20% soln. of a mixt. contg. a-cyclodextrin [10016-20-3] 30, b-cyclodextrin [7585-39-9] 15, and g-cyclodextrin [17465-86-0] 15, and dextrin 50% was pptd. with 25% (on base material wt.) CaO for 1 h at room temp., stored 4 h at 4°, and filtered. The above filtrate was acidified with CO2 to give a mixt. with I recovery 87%.
