Approx. 0.5% lysozyme-HCl [9066-59-5] can be substituted for part of the AcOH. For example, a 4:1 mixt. of montmorillonite and AcOH was heat-dried, powd., and mixed with the papain and lysozyme-HCl. The montmorillonite absorbs the moisture assocd. with the skin disease and allows more effective treatment by the other constituents of the compn.
