1310-82-3 Usage
General Description
Rubidium hydroxide (RbOH) is a highly corrosive and strong alkali chemical compound. It is composed of rubidium ions and hydroxide ions, and is frequently found in its monohydrate form. Like other strong hydroxides, it is a highly efficient conductor of electricity and is often used for this purpose in industrial settings. Rubidium hydroxide poses serious health risks, such as skin and eye burns upon contact, and exposure can be fatal if inhaled or swallowed. Its notoriety lies within its ability to react with acids, forming salts and water, and it is also often used in methods to deprotonate weak acids.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 1310-82-3 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 1,3,1 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1310-82:
(6*1)+(5*3)+(4*1)+(3*0)+(2*8)+(1*2)=43
43 % 10 = 3
So 1310-82-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Microwave spectrum of the rubidium monoxide RbO radical
Yamada
, p. 2853 - 2857 (1999)
Using a microwave spectrometer, the rotational spectra of 85RbO and 87RbO were recorded. Spectral lines which were supposed to be caused by RbO started to appear when the temperature of the cell reached 350°C and became strong at 500 to 550°C. All the observed spectra were analyzed by a least-squares method. Overall, the molecular parameters derived from the spectra provide invaluable information on the rubidium monoxide radical.
