Usage

General Description

S-Cbz-L-cysteine is a chemical compound with a molecular formula of C11H13NO4S and a molecular weight of 259.29 g/mol. It is a derivative of the amino acid cysteine, in which the amine group has been protected by a carbobenzyloxy (Cbz) group. This protection allows for the selective orthogonally deprotection of other functional groups in a molecule. S-Cbz-L-cysteine is commonly used in organic synthesis and peptide chemistry as a building block for creating complex molecules and peptides. It is a white to off-white solid that is soluble in organic solvents and commonly used in chemical reactions under mild conditions.
