, p. 243 - 248 (2007/10/02)
The reaction between mercury(II) chloride and imidazoles (L) gives either polymeric 1-(chloromercury)imidazoles or LnHgCl2 (n = 1, 2) adducts, characterized through analytical and spectral (IR and 1H-NMR) data. The former compounds are obtained from 1-unsubstituted L, the latter, L2HgX2 (X = Cl, CN), from those bearing an alkyl substituent on the 1-position.
