- Pincerlike molybdenum complex and preparation method thereof, catalytic composition and application thereof, and alcohol preparation method
-
The invention discloses a clamp-type molybdenum complex, a preparation method, a corresponding catalyst composition and application. The method comprises the steps: obtaining 9 molybdenum complexes with different structures through coordination reaction of 2-(substituent ethyl)-(5, 6, 7, 8-tetrahydroquinolyl) amine and a corresponding carbonyl molybdenum metal precursor; and catalyzing a ketone compound transfer hydrogenation reaction through a molybdenum complex to generate 40 alcohol compounds. The preparation method of the molybdenum complex is simple, high in yield and good in stability. For a transfer hydrogenation reaction of ketone, the molybdenum-based catalytic system has high catalytic activity and small molybdenum loading capacity, is used for production of aromatic and aliphatic alcohols, and has the advantages of simple method, small environmental pollution and high yield.

- Oxidative carbon-carbon bond cleavage of 1,2-diols to carboxylic acids/ketones by an inorganic-ligand supported iron catalyst
-
The carbon-carbon bond cleavage of 1,2-diols is an important chemical transformation. Although traditional stoichiometric and catalytic oxidation methods have been widely used for this transformation, an efficient and valuable method should be further explored from the views of reusable catalysts, less waste, and convenient procedures. Herein an inorganic-ligand supported iron catalyst (NH4)3[FeMo6O18(OH)6]·7H2O was described as a heterogeneous molecular catalyst in acetic acid for this transformation in which hydrogen peroxide was used as the terminal oxidant. Under the optimized reaction conditions, carbon-carbon bond cleavage of 1,2-diols could be achieved in almost all cases and carboxylic acids or ketones could be afforded with a high conversion rate and high selectivity. Furthermore, the catalytic system was used efficiently to degrade renewable biomass oleic acid. Mechanistic insights based on the observation of the possible intermediates and control experiments are presented.

- PREPARATION OF ALPHA-HYDROXYKETONES
-
A process for the preparation of an 1, 1 -disubstituted oxirane is disclosed, wherein an organic sulphide is reacted in a polar solvent with an educt containing a leaving group attached to a primary or secondary carbon atom, and/or the sulfonium salt formed in this way is reacted with a ketone in presence of a base and a polar solvent. Oxiranes of the type obtained may be further converted into the corresponding α-hydroxyketone or α-aminoketone, either in one step by subjecting to aerobic oxidation in the presence of a transition metal catalyst, or in two steps by hydrolyzation in the presence of an aqueous acid to the corresponding dialcohol and subsequent selective oxidation. Further described are some novel epoxide intermediates. The α-hydroxyketones and α-aminoketones thus obtainable are useful inter alga as photoinitiators.

- Samarium Dibromide, an Efficient Reagent for the Pinacol Coupling Reactions.
-
The preparation of SmBr2 from Sm2O3 is described. This samarium (II) compound is a powerful one electron reductant able to very efficiently mediate pinacolic couplings.Cross couplings are effective in some cases, for example a chiral diol can be obtained from benzophenone and camphor.Intramolecular pinacolization of a diketone has been performed.
