16900-59-7 Usage

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 16900-59-7 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,6,9,0 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 16900-59:
(7*1)+(6*6)+(5*9)+(4*0)+(3*0)+(2*5)+(1*9)=107
107 % 10 = 7
So 16900-59-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

(Z)-N-(4-Decenoyl)homoserine lactone, a new quorum-sensing molecule, produced by endobacteria associated with Mortierella alpina A-178

Kai, Kenji,Kasamatsu, Koji,Hayashi, Hideo

, p. 5441 - 5444 (2012)

N-Acylhomoserine lactones (AHLs) are the conserved quorum-sensing signal molecules in Gram-negative bacteria. (Z)-N-(4-Decenoyl)homoserine lactone (1), a new AHL, was isolated from the culture broth of the fungus Mortierella alpina A-178 harboring bacterial endosymbionts, called endobacteria. The structure and absolute configuration of 1 were elucidated by EI-MS, chemical synthesis, and chiral GC analysis. The compound induced the expression of a QS-regulated reporter gene in Agrobacterium tumefaciens NTL4, although its activity was lower than that of N-decanoylhomoserine lactone (6).

A Simple, General Diastereoselective Synthesis of 5-Hydroxyalkylbutan-4-olides

Jefford, Charles W.,Wang, Ying

, p. 1513 - 1514 (2007/10/02)

cis- and trans-Hex-4-enoic acids and their 6-n-propyl and n-butyl derivatives, when treated with a 1.1 molar excess of m-chloroperbenzoic acid and Amberlyst-15 as catalyst in CH2Cl2 at 20 deg C, gave the corresponding threo- and erythro-5-hydroxyalkylbutan-4-olides in quantitative yields.
