The reactions of bis(trimethylsilyl)aminotrimethylsilylaminochloroborane with ammonia, various amines, methyl alcohol, and n-butyllithium have been studied. A number of unsymmetrical trisaminoboranes, a methoxy compound, and a compound containing a four-membered boron-nitrogen ring have been prepared. Also, a possible mechanism for the formation of aminobis(trimethylsilyl)aminotrimethylsilylaminoborane from trichloroborane and excess hexamethyldisilazane is discussed.
