Used in Stem Cell Research:
N-(4-Fluorobenzoyl)-5-amino-1H-indole is used as a reprogramming agent for the production of pluripotent stem cells. It activates the expression of Oct4, a transcription factor involved in the reprogramming of somatic cells, in conjunction with Sox2, Klf4, and c-Myc. In cells expressing these factors, OAC3 (1 μM) enhances reprogramming efficiency by increasing the rate of production of induced pluripotent stem cells from embryonic fibroblasts. This makes it a valuable tool in stem cell research and regenerative medicine.
