POLYFLUORO-ARYL CONTAINING N-ANIONS AND THE 1H AND 19F NMR SPECTRA OF THEIR SALTS
The salts of N-anions of types Na and Na were generated by the reaction of sodium hydride with polyfluoroaryl-containing NH acids (polyfluoroaryl- and diarylamines, polyfluorobenzanilides, polyfluoroacetanilides) in 1,2-dimethoxyethane.Satisfactory linear correlations are observed between the parameters of the 1H and 19F NMR spectra of solutions of the salts of the N anions and NH acids and also the ? constants of the substituents R.From comparison of the chemical shifts of the para-fluorine atom in the salts of the ambient N-anions and the structurally similar enolate anions it follows that the increase in the interaction of the C6F5 group with negative charge in the ? system in the N-anions is due to the greater localization of charge on the nitrogen atom in the latter than on the carbon atom in the enolate anions.
