PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially preferable production method for obtaining a tetrahydropyranyl pyrimidine compound in high yield without performing complicated operations.SOLUTION: There is provided a method of producing a tetrahydropyranyl pyrimidine compound of the general formula (4), including reacting a tetrahydropyran-4-carboxy amidine compound of the chemical formula (1) (or acid salt thereof) and a compound represented by the general formula (2) in the presence of a base. In the formulae, one of Rand Rrepresents an alkoxy group or -NRRand the other represents a hydrogen atom or an alkoxy group, Arepresents an alkoxycarbonyl group, a cyano group, a formyl group or an iminium group, Z represents a hydrogen atom, an amino group, a hydroxyl group or a halogen atom.
