55297-95-5 Usage
Uses
Used in Veterinary Medicine:
Tiamulin is used as an antibacterial agent for the treatment of swine dysentery caused by Serpulina hyodysenteriae. It is generally administered as its hydrogen fumarate salt and is effective against a range of Gram-positive bacteria without cross-resistance to existing antibiotic classes.
Safety Profile
Poison by
intramuscular and intravenous routes.
Moderately toxic by ingestion and
subcutaneous routes. When heated to
decomposition it emits toxic fumes of SOx
and NOx. See also MERCAPTANS.
Veterinary Drugs and Treatments
Tiamulin is approved for use in swine to treat pneumonia caused
by susceptible strains of Haemophilus pleuropneumoniae and swine
dysentery caused by Treponema hyodysenteriae. As a feed additive, it
is used to cause increased weight gain in swine.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 55297-95-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 5,5,2,9 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 55297-95:
(7*5)+(6*5)+(5*2)+(4*9)+(3*7)+(2*9)+(1*5)=155
155 % 10 = 5
So 55297-95-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
