Arsinous acid as a thiol binding group: Potential cysteine peptide tagging functionality that binds a single thiol
Liang, Xiaofei,Drueckhammer, Dale G.
, p. 1368 - 1371 (2014/05/06)
A simple aryl arsinous acid (ArAs(CH3)OH) was prepared by ortho mercuration of p-cresol followed by Pd-catalyzed reaction with methylarsenic dibromide, purification as the mercaptoethanol adduct, and deprotection using a silver salt. Isothermal titration calorimetry experiments showed reaction with mercaptoethanol with an association constant of 6 × 104 M -1. Rapid exchange of thiols at the arsenic atom was demonstrated by 1H-NMR.
Reaktive Arsen-Heterocyclen. III. 3-Arsolene: Synthese und Reaktionen am Arsen

, p. 57 - 66 (2007/10/02)
3-Arsolenes (R=Ph, Me, t-Bu, Cl, R'=H, Me) are readily obtained from zirconocene-butadiene complexes and RAsCl2.Alkylation with methyl iodide gives arsonium salts (R=Ph, Me, t-Bu, R'=H, Me), treatment with sulphur gives sulphides (R=Me, t-Bu), while oxidation with Br2 or SO2Cl2 results in ring cleavage. From chloroarsolene substitution products (R=I, H, SPh, OMe, NMe2) as well as coupling products with As-As, As-O-As, and As-S-As units were synthesized. In addition, a number of arsolene complexes with the metals chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, and ruthenium is described.
