MEGA-8 is used as a detergent ingredient for its water-soluble and nondenaturing properties, which help to effectively clean surfaces without causing damage to the materials being cleaned.
Used in Biochemistry:
MEGA-8 is used as a stabilizing agent in biochemical applications for its nondenaturing properties, which help to maintain the structure and function of proteins and other biopolymers during purification and analysis processes.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Water soluble detergent with high solubilising power and non-denaturating properties. Readily removed by dialysis.; Does not interfere with the monitoring of proteins at 280 nm.
