Properties:
Known only in solution. Yellow, unstable; H2S odor. Decomposed by acids with evolution of hydrogen sulfide.
Derivation:
Passing hydrogen sulfide into 28% ammonium hydroxide and dissolving an excess of sulfur in the resulting solution.
Hazard:
Evolves toxic and flammable gas on contact with acids.
Use:
Analytical reagent, insecticide spray.
