    (1926– ). An American molecular biologist who won the Nobel Prize for chemistry in 1980 with Sanger and Gilbert. Berg's research concerned the biochemistry of nucleic acid, particularly regarding recombinant DNA, that is combining a molecule DNA's from different species. His Doctorate was attained at Western Reserve, and later he performed research at Stanford University.
