    Colorless, deliquescent crystals; odorless. Mp 200C. Soluble in water, alcohol, and acetic acid; insoluble in ether.
     
    Derivation:
    By distilling a mixture of arsenic trioxide and potassium acetate, and oxidizing the resulting product with mercuric oxide.
     
    Hazard:
    Toxic by ingestion.
     
    Use:
    Herbicide, especially for control of Johnson grass on cotton; soil sterilant; chemical warfare; timber thinning.
