Cements in which ferric oxide replaces a large part of the alumina. There must be some alumina present, however. Iron-ore cement is rather slow setting and hardening, but is more resistant to seawater than is Portland cement. It is light to chocolate brown in color, d about 3.31, higher than Portland cement.
