A variety of calcined limestone that when pulverized absorbs water without swelling or heating and gives a cement that hardens under water. The limestone burned for this purpose usually contains 10–17% silica, alumina, and iron, and 40–45% lime, magnesia sometimes replacing lime. Must not be loaded hot.
