(1) A fire-fighting agent consisting of a water solution of perfluorocarbon compounds mixed with a water-soluble thickener of the polyoxyethylene compound type. It can be used simultaneously with a dry chemical to smother gasoline or similar fires. (2) Ordinary water (as distinct from heavy water) used to both cool and moderate nuclear reactors.
