A condensation product of m-cresolsulfonic acid with formaldehyde. A polymerized dihydroxydimethyldiphenylmethanedisulfonic acid. It is dispersible in water, forming very acidic colloidal solutions. The pH of a 5% dispersion is approximately 1.0.
