    Properties:
    Colorless, white, gray, or occasionally pink mineral, white streak, vitreous luster. Resembles spodumene in appearance. Contains up to 4.9% lithia, sometimes with partial replacement by sodium or less often by potassium. Insoluble in acids, d 2.39–2.46, Mohs hardness 6–6.5.
     
    Occurrence:
    U.S. (Massachusetts, Maine); Sweden.
     
    Use:
    Source of lithium salts, in ceramics and glass.
