The ground press-cake left from expression of rapeseed oil. Its major use is as an animal feed ingredient, but the presence of harmful glucosides, which may be goiter-inducing, limits its application for this purpose. Research efforts are being directed to removal of this constituent from meal produced in Canada. The meal also has some use as a fertilizer. If fed to animals, it should be blended with other feeds.
