(1945– ). An American Born in Berne, Indiana who won the Nobel Prize for chemistry in 2005 for his pioneering work concerning the development of the metathesis method in organic synthesis. Awarded a B.A. from the University of California, Riverside and a Ph.D. from Harvard University. A member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences.
