White waxy solid. Mp 28–30C, bp 175C (3 mm Hg), d 0.9037 (20/20C), refr index 1.4355–1.4362 (55C), iodine no. 80–82. Insoluble in water and alcohol; moderately soluble in ketones and vegetable oils; soluble in most hydrocarbon and chlorinated solvents. Combustible.
Use:
Plasticizer (copolymerizer), lubricant.
