    (1938– ). Born in Aarberg, Switzerland, Wuthrich won the Nobel Prize for chemistry in 2003 for his pioneering work concerning for the development of nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy for determining the three-dimensional structure of biological macromolecules in solution. He earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Bernborn in Aarberg and a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Basel, Switzerland. Currently a Professor of Biophysics in Eidgenrich, Switzerland and Cecil H. and Ida M. Green Visiting Professor of Structural Biology, The Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, CA.
