Mono-/bicyclic tautomerism in 4-hydroxy- and 4-amino-cyclooctanones and -octenones

4-Hydroxycyclooctanone and 4-hydroxycyclooct-2-enone are shown to be in equilibrium with their respective bicyclic tautomers; the corresponding 4-aminocyclooctanones and -oct-2-enones have been synthesised and these amino-ketones show similar behaviour. T
