TRITERPENES FROM THE STEM BARK OF PHYLLANTHUS FLEXUOSUS

Five new triterpenes were isolated together with the known triterpene diol, betulin, from the stem bark of Phyllanthus flexuosus.The structures were characterized as olean-12-en-3β-,15α-diol,lup-20(29)-en-3β,24-diol, olean-12-en-3β,24-diol, oleana-11:13(18)-dien-3β,24-diol and olean-12-en-3β,15α,24-triol on the basis of spectroscopic evidence.Key Word Index-- Phyllanthus flexuosus; Euphorbiaceae; stem bark; oleananes; lupanes.
