The properties of the complexes Ni(CO)4-n(P(C<*>CC6H5)m(C6H5)3-m)n (n=2, 3, 4; m=3, 2, 1) are described. The complex Ni(P(C<*>CC6H5)3)4 is also formed by the reduction of NiX2 (X=Br, I) with an excess of P(C2C6H5)3.A weak ?-acidity of the alkynylphosphines falling in the series P(C2C6H5)3 > P(C2C6H5)2C6H5 > PC2C6H5(C6H5)2 is inferred from the trend of the force-constants fCO.
