Thus, we were able for the first time to synthesize the
monoꢀ and bimetallic catalysts and to carry out the selecꢀ
tive hydrogenation of DNB in the absence of noble metals.
A high selectivity to PDA at 100% conversion of DNB is
achieved when hydrogen is used as a reducing agent. The
reaction occurs under relatively mild conditions. The opꢀ
timum Cu content in the monometallic catalyst was found
to be 9%. Complete conversion of DNB with a yield of
PDA of 99% is achieved under mild conditions (140 °С,
initial hydrogen pressure 13 atm) at this copper content.
The catalysts can be prepared using a simplified technology.
The synthesis of the catalysts consists of two stages only:
