  • General Description 1-Ethyl-7-chloro-6-fluoro-1,4-dihydro-4-oxoquinoline-3-carboxylic acid is a key intermediate in the synthesis of quinolone antibiotics, such as norfloxacin, and exhibits significant antibacterial activity. Derivatives of 1-ETHYL-7-CHLORO-6-FLUORO-1,4-DIHYDRO-4-OXOQUINOLINE-3-CARBOXYLIC ACID, including those with substituted piperazine groups, have demonstrated potent in vitro antimicrobial effects against various bacterial strains, including *Staphylococcus aureus*, *Escherichia coli*, and *Klebsiella pneumoniae*, with some showing weak antifungal activity. 1-ETHYL-7-CHLORO-6-FLUORO-1,4-DIHYDRO-4-OXOQUINOLINE-3-CARBOXYLIC ACID's in vivo efficacy against *E. coli* has also been confirmed, with ED50 values ranging from 50 to 160 mg/kg.
