  • General Description 1,8-Diamino-4,5-dihydroxyanthraquinone (also known as 4,5-diaminochrysazin) is a derivative of chrysazin synthesized through nitration and reduction processes. An improved method for its preparation involves ethylation and nitration of chrysazin, followed by treatment with hydroiodic acid (HI), which simultaneously achieves O-deethylation and nitro group reduction with high yield (>95%). This scalable and efficient synthesis represents a significant advancement over previous methods.
