  • General Description 1,4-Diaminoanthraquinone is a derivative of anthraquinone characterized by the presence of amino groups at the 1 and 4 positions. It is known by various trade names, including C.I. Disperse Violet 1 and Solvent Violet 11, and is used as a dye in industrial applications. 1,4-Diamino anthraquinone can form as a minor product during the synthesis of 1-amino-4-butylaminoanthraquinone under metal ion catalysis, particularly with Co(II), via dealkylation. Its structure has been analyzed using 13C NMR spectroscopy, with chemical shifts and coupling constants reported for further characterization.
