Uses
Sarcosine-d3 is the labelled analog of Sarcosine (S140500). Sarcosine is a type?1 glycine transporter inhibitor and a glycine agonist that may be useful for treating schizophrenia (1). Sarcosine is also a marker for prostate cancer bioagression (2). Sarcosine-d3 is also an intermediate in the synthesis of Creatinine-d3 (C781502), which is a Labelled Creatinine. The end product of creatine catabolism. Normal constituent of urine. Also found together with creatine in muscle tissues and blood. Occurs in all soils and in grain seeds and other vegetable matter. Has been found in certain fish and in crab meat extract.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 118685-91-9 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,1,8,6,8 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 118685-91:
(8*1)+(7*1)+(6*8)+(5*6)+(4*8)+(3*5)+(2*9)+(1*1)=159
159 % 10 = 9
So 118685-91-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING DRUG CONTAINING DEUTERATED SARCOSINE, AND DIAGNOSTIC METHOD USING SAID DRUG
-
Paragraph 0084, (2021/11/04)
The invention relates to the means for magnetic resonance imaging of oncological diseases and other diseases, accompanied by a locally altered level of absorption of nutrients by cells. The invention is the diagnostic drug containing at least one deuterated derivative of sarcosine, as well as the diagnostic method based on the use of this diagnostic drug. The method of the invention includes performing magnetic resonance imaging and / or deuterium magnetic resonance spectroscopy after administration of the diagnostic drug in a time sufficient for the accumulation of the diagnostic drug in a target area of a subject's body. The proposed method allows to carry out a highly informative diagnostics of oncological diseases and other diseases, accompanied by a locally altered level of absorption of nutrients by cells.
