Weis, Alexander L.,Zamir, Dov
, p. 3421 - 3425 (2007/10/02)
A series of 6-hydroxytetrahydropyrimidines and 1,4(1,6)-dihydropyrimidines bearing a phenyl, methyl, or amino group at position 2, as well as the unsubstituted (parent) compounds of these families, were synthesized by reaction of acrolein with several ami
ACROLEIN AS A SYNTHON FOR PYRIMIDINIC COMPOUNDS. REACTION WITH BENZAMIDINE
Weis, Alexander,Frolow, Felix,Zamir, Dov,Bernstein, Michael
, p. 657 - 661 (2007/10/02)
Depending on the reaction conditions, acrolein (stabilized by hydroquinone) reacts with benzamidine to give selectively tetrahydropyrimidine (4), dihydropyrimidine (5) and pyrimidine (6) in high yields.
