Reaction of 4-(1,4-benzodioxan-2-yl)thiazol-2-amine with acid chlorides afforded N-substituted amides which further were reduced into the corresponding amines. A new method was developed of preparation of 2-acetyl-1,4-benzodioxane, the initial compound in the synthesis of thiazolylbenzodioxane and numerous derivatives of this series.
