Refluxing PF6 in acetone gives C8H13D and 2; an X-ray structure determination of 2 shows the cation to be an unbridged, metal-metal bonded dimer of ruthenium(I) containing eclipsed 2,6-dimethylphenyl isocyanide ligands.
