RADICAL REARRANGEMENT OF A THIOESTER MEDIATED BY COBALAMIN
Tada, Masaru,Inoue, Kunimi,Okabe, Masami
, p. 703 - 704 (1986)
Zinc-reduction of 2-(ethylthio)carbonyl-2-phenylpropyl bromide in the presence of cobalamin gave the products formed by the migration of the thioester group. The formation of olefinic products excludes an anion mechanism and the rearrengement is concluded
The effect of cobalt(II) complex on the reactivity of thioester in radical process
Tada, Masaru,Kaneko, Katsuyuki
, p. 843 - 844 (2007/10/03)
The 1,2-rearrangement of an (alkylthio)carbonyl group and the radical substitution on sulfur are stimulated by the coexisting cobalt(II) complex, generated intermolecularly or intramoleculary.
BIOMIMETIC RADICAL REARRANGEMENT OF A THIOESTER GROUP MEDIATED BY A COBALT COMPLEX, COBALOXIME
Tada, Masaru,Inoue, Kunimi,Sugawara, Keiji,Hiratsuka, Mitsunori,Okabe, Masami
, p. 1821 - 1824 (2007/10/02)
The possible involvement of cobalt in the radical reaarrangement of a thioester group was tested by using cobaloxime as a mimic of cobalamin. The coexistence of cobaloxime (II) species stimulates the rearrangement of the thioester group.A coordinative interaction between sulfur and cobalt is proposed for the assistance of this rearrangement.

Mites and insects, particularly aphids, are combated by applying as pest control agents one or more compounds of the structural formula EQU1 in which R is tert.butylphenyl; tert.butyl; 3,5-dimethylphenyl; 1-methyl-1-phenylthioethyl; 1-methyl-1-methylthioethyl; 1-cyclohexylthio-1-methylethyl; 1-cyclohexylthiopropyl; 1-ethylthio-1-methylethyl; 1-ethylthiopropyl or 1-ethylthioethyl.
