Organotin Aryloxyacetates: Examples of Intramolecularly Coordinated Monomeric Carboxylates

A number of tr- and di-organotin complexes of aryloxyacetic acids have been prepared and characterised on the basis of analytical and spectral (IR, UV) data.The alkyltin derivatives are monomeric in solid state with intramolecular O-->Sn coordination and pentacoordinated tin atom while the triphenyl derivatives appear to be polymeric with bridging carboxyl groups.
