The synthesis and principal properties of 2-methyl-3-(4'-dibenzofuryl)propionic acid and some of its derivatives are described.Racemic 4-(β-carboxypropyl)-dibenzofuran was resolved by crystallization of its diastereomeric salts with cinchonine.Optical rotatory dipersion of the dextrorotatory acid, its amides and esters was determined in the region 340 λ 600 nm.
